Why Partner with ZF Metal for Your Metal Stamping Projects?

ZF Metal factory support for custom metal projects
In-house tooling advantage

Our independent mold workshop designs and fabricates stamping dies in-house, cutting tooling cost by 30% and lead time by 40% compared with outsourced tooling. We also provide lifetime die maintenance for mass production orders.

High-efficiency mass production

Progressive die stamping lines reach 60-120 strokes per minute, ideal for high-volume orders with stable dimensional consistency.

DFM optimization for cost reduction

Our engineering team optimizes part design for material nesting and formability, improving material utilization by 10-20% and reducing scrap rate.

Strict defect control

We implement in-die sensing and regular die maintenance to minimize burrs, springback and dimension deviation, ensuring over 99.5% batch pass rate.

  6. Special requirements (flatness tolerance, burr limitation, assembly fit)
  7. Whether existing tooling is available or new tooling is required

Custom Metal Stamping FAQ

Custom metal parts FAQ support
How long does it take to build a new stamping die?

For simple single-station dies, tooling lead time is 7-10 days; for complex progressive dies, lead time is 15-25 days, including sample tryout and approval.

Do you charge for stamping tooling? Is tooling cost refundable?

Tooling is charged separately based on part complexity. For mass production orders reaching agreed volume, we can offer full or partial tooling cost refund.

What is the minimum burr height you can control?

For standard sheet metal stamping, we control burr height below 5% of material thickness; for precision stamping, burr height can be controlled below 0.03mm.

Can you produce progressive die stamping parts for high volume orders?

Yes. Progressive dies are our standard solution for annual volumes above 50,000 pieces, delivering higher efficiency and lower unit cost.
