Custom Metal Forging FAQ
Why choose forging over casting or machining for critical parts?
Forging produces continuous grain flow aligned with part shape, resulting in higher strength, better fatigue resistance and longer service life under dynamic and high-load conditions.
What is the typical tolerance of forged parts?
As-forged tolerance is typically CT7-CT9. For higher precision requirements, post-forging CNC machining can achieve tighter tolerances.
Can you provide heat treatment for forged parts?
Yes. We offer quenching, tempering, normalizing, annealing and carburizing to achieve specified hardness and mechanical properties.
What is the minimum order quantity for custom forgings?
Due to tooling setup cost, we typically recommend MOQ of 200-500 pieces for closed die forging, with lower MOQ available for prototype runs.
